Anti-Human Trafficking
Creating Space for Collaboration, Healing, and Hope
Throughout my life, I’ve been drawn to work that helps people heal, discover purpose, and move forward with hope. Over time, that calling has naturally expanded into anti-human trafficking response, advocacy, and collaboration.
I founded Uprooting Trafficking to bring together survivor leaders, nonprofit organizations, government partners, frontline professionals, and community members around one shared goal: strengthening our collective response to human trafficking and exploitation.
I believe lasting change doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we listen deeply, learn from one another, and work together. While every organization has an important role to play, meaningful progress comes through collaboration, shared learning, and a commitment to putting survivors at the centre of every conversation.
Uprooting Trafficking
Uprooting Trafficking is a collaborative initiative focused on education, awareness, partnership, and systems change.
Our work includes:
- Bringing together diverse voices through awareness events and educational initiatives.
- Building relationships across nonprofit organizations, government, law enforcement, healthcare, and community partners.
- Facilitating ongoing partner huddles that create space for collaboration, resource sharing, and collective problem solving.
- Supporting advocacy efforts that strengthen prevention, survivor supports, and coordinated community responses.
- Encouraging communities to recognize the signs of human trafficking and respond with greater understanding, compassion, and action.
At the heart of this work is a simple belief: every person deserves dignity, safety, and the opportunity to heal.
My Approach
I don’t approach this work as someone who has all the answers.
I approach it as a listener, a collaborator, and someone committed to creating spaces where people feel safe to share their experiences, learn from one another, and move meaningful work forward together.
The same values that guide my coaching and wellness work also guide this journey: purpose, compassion, curiosity, humility, and hope.
Looking Ahead
This work continues to grow in meaningful ways.
Alongside Uprooting Trafficking, I’m developing trauma-aware retreat experiences designed specifically for:
- Survivors of human trafficking and exploitation.
- Frontline professionals experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, or secondary trauma.
These retreats will thoughtfully integrate restorative practices such as meditation, mindfulness, sound healing, sylvotherapy, and other trauma-aware approaches, creating spaces where healing, reflection, and restoration can unfold at each person’s own pace.
They are being developed in collaboration with survivors, practitioners, and organizations working in this field because I believe these spaces should be created with the people they are intended to serve.
